New Parent Governor - we need you!

We are seeking a Parent Governor to join our board.  We are fortunate that our existing Parent Governor, who no longer has a child at Thorogate School, has agreed to be co-opted as an additional Governor and remain on the board.  

As a Parent Governor, you bring the perspective of a parent to the board's strategic decision making.   This is a key viewpoint to ensure that Thorogate School continues to service its community well.  

A common misconception is that you will have to represent individual parents concerns and issues.   This is not the case.  Parents need to follow normal procedures, such as contacting their child's classteacher or, if required, contacting the school's headteacher.

Please read the document below.  Consider the role or discuss it with another parent whom you think would make a great Parent Governor.  At the end of the document is the form that needs to be completed and returned to Mrs Stone in the school's office by noon of Wednesday 18th March 2026.
